Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderfully creative day!
I’m showing you some ideas using Craft Kit 29. For those of you that haven’t managed to get the Dot & Drop kit, you will probably know that Tonic Studios have produced various dies like this and there’s even one on offer at the moment in the UK; Diamond Column and a different one in the US- Ornate Tree.
Whether you love a little simple stitching, or you prefer a quicker ‘no-sew’ hack, this video will show you how to do both!
There are ‘sew’ many ways of using this kit, and I really love its versatility. Who doesn’t adore butterflies and the way they produce such beautiful movement on your designs?
You can see on the photo just how effective faux stitching with white gel pen is. The dies in the kit produce some floral, butterfly and dragonfly images. Also in the kit are 3 full sized Nuvo drops and the one I used is Coral Blush Vintage Drops. There’s a whole range of delicious Vintage Drop colours here.
You can see the different sewing effects in the photo before. I used some lovely thread I’d sew in my machine with, but you could easily use embroidery thread or the threads you’d use for cross-stitch. Heat embossing brings another texture to the project, and I used the sentiment from the Craft Kit too.
Even if you’ve not got any of these ‘dot and drop’ styled dies, you can create your own using a piercing tool like this Tonic / Tim Holtz one and a mouse-mat or foam under your cardstock, and pierce your own stitch pattern. It’s just a simple way of getting even more value from your Tonic Studios supplies.
See you soon,
