Lou Sims back again on the Tonic Studios blog to share with you 3 ways to use Nuvo products. This time I am using the beautiful Silhouette collection: Delicate Butterfly, Perfect Petunia & Embellished Heart.
Delicate Butterfly Silhouette
I wanted the butterflies to float & needed them to be sturdy. I covered a piece of white card stock first with Nuvo Hybrid Clear ink, adding Nuvo Copper Blush, Crimson Gloss & Sportscar Red embossing powders. The Nuvo Craft Spoon was simply perfect for this task & Nuvo Surface Sweep helped clear up any stray powder(s) quickly. Each powder wase added a little at a time, making a mottled background. After heat setting, I die cut my butterflies.
I die cut another set of butterfly wings, with the second decorative butterfly panel, placing these behind my embossed layer. To secure everything in place, I have used Nuvo Cherry Hearts & Golden Ovals Gemstones
PROJECT TWO –
Perfect Petunia Silhouette
On a piece of rectangular white card stock, I randomly die cut the petunia decorative panel. I placed the panel on to a piece of Craft Perfect double sided adhesive sheet & began adding my Nuvo Pure Sheen glitters with Pure Sheen 4 pack, Peacock Feathers. If there were any gaps remaining, these were covered with Diamond glitter – from Pure Sheen 4 pack, Cross my Heart. To add the glitter precisely, I used my Nuvo Craft Spoon, tidying any excess glitter away with Nuvo Surface Sweep.
When finished, I felt that I needed to highlight some of the petunia panels. The Circles Scribble Frames were just perfect for this task. Finally I have added “have faith” sentiment strip die.
For my final card, I decided to use each of the layers in the Embellished Heart set to recede back towards the beautiful decorative design. The design itself has been placed on to a piece of Craft Perfect Polished Gold mirri card.
Although the design idea worked, the outer frame needed “something”. Maybe an edge strip? Finally, I chose to use Nuvo Dream Drops in Gold Luxe varying the drop sizes. To add a punch of red, I added 3 drops of Fiery Volcano stone drops.
I was just thinking to myself whilst writing this post, that I don’t think there has been a time when I have not added any Nuvo products to my projects! Do you have a favourite Nuvo product? What is your favourite way to use it?
Until next time,
